Ninja Weasel Studios - Dragon Avatars

About Ninja Weasel Studios

Ninja Weasel Studios (NWS) is an avatar creation group specializing in anthropomorphic animal avatars. The group consists of two main people (although others help with planning, advertising, and events):

  • Whinge Languish (cheif designer and builder of the avatars)
  • Akurei Sieyes (recolors and customer service)

The location of their main store has, as of July 2006, moved to the SIM 'Tokachi City' however they have vendors in several other areas.

As of December 2006 all NWS avatars cost L$900 although they were considering lowering the prices of older avatars with fewer features and raising them for newer, more advanced avatars.

NWS had a website at http://www.ninjaweasel.com/ but as of this writing the website appears defunct.

Dragon Types

On April 15, 2006 NWS began offering anthropomorphic dragon avatars (bipedal humanoid body shape). They currently offers 3 types of dragons.

Western
Anthropmorphic version of the classic 'European' style dragon. They have arms plus separate wings that automatically unfurl and flap when flying. They also include a firebreath command (produces a particle effect along with an animation)
Default colors: Red, Green, Dark Red, Dark Green, Black, White
Eastern
Asian style dragons with stag-like horns. No wings nor firebreath. They come with a 'pearl of wisdom' that floats nearby (the pearl contains most of the scripts). These dragons fly with a snake-like 'swimming' motion through the air. They also feature a flicking forked tongue.
Default colors: Red, Gold, Green, Green&Red, Turquoise, White
Wyvern
These have arms as wings and fly by flapping the arms. They feature a scorpion-like poison-dripping tail with attack animation and sound.
Default colors: Brown, Red, Green, Green&Red, Grey, Black, White

Clothing and Attachments

All NWS dragons use a recolored body (as opposed to a 'full-prim' body) and thus can wear the regular clothing objects: shirts, undershirts, jackets, pants, and skirts. Longer pants will, however, be 'cut off' by the foot and shin attachments. Longer sleeves and gloves will be 'cut off' by the hand and forearm 'claw' attachments.

Avatar Attachment Points used

  • Nose -> dragon's head
  • Pelvis -> tail
  • L/R Hands -> claws
  • L/R Forearms -> forearm attachments
  • L/R Shoulders -> wings (for european dragon)
  • L/R Shins -> shin attachments
  • L/R Feet -> footclaws

(L/R stands for 'both left and right')

Customization

Contact Akurei Sieyes (NOT Whinge Languish) regarding a custom recoloring of all necessary textures. As of December 2006 the cost for recoloring was L$300.

NWS does not offer any customization services beyond recoloring however these avatars are copyable and fully modifyable so an owner can do his or her own customization.

Most of the scripts in NWS dragons are readable and modifyable.

(note: for the Western dragon the firebreath script named NWS Firebreath and animation firebreath is located in an invisible cube directly under the mouth.)

Bugs

A minor 'eyeblink' bug has been discovered in many older NWS avatars (including the dragons). When viewing the head at angles greater than 90 degrees (with respect to directly forward) the eyes appear to stop blinking. This has been fixed in newer avatars and may be retroactively fixed in older avatar designs.
