This poem is called Caterpillar Mornings, by Tanager Skydancing as told by Tessira Soderstrom

/Tessira holds out her arm, where a fuzzy caterpillar is slowly crawling around.
Caterpillar mornings, Caterpillar wakes in the dawn.
Caught by strange imaginings, Caterpillar searches on... and on.
Little caterpillar, wandering on your way.
Little caterpillar, what do you seek today?

/Tessira giggles as the fuzzy caterpillar crawls across her sensitive skin.
Caterpillar mornings, munching on a daisy's leaf.
Caught in last night's dreaming, pensive little garden thief.
Little caterpillar, come back to sanity.
Little caterpillar, such things are not for thee.

/Tessira carefully brushes the fuzzy caterpillar and watches it slowly inch across to her other arm.
Caterpillar mornings, Caterpillar watches the sky.
Foolish caterpillar, how could a caterpillar fly?
Little caterpillar, dream wings are only dreams.
Beautiful, but useless. Life comes in more banal themes.

/Tessira sets the caterpillar down on the ground, pausing the poem to watch it inch away.
Caterpillar mornings, it's caterpillar ways you must go.
Live and be content, why does a dream haunt you so?
...and yet, you see...
There's something inside me...
That says today, a dream could come my way..

/Tessira watches the furry caterpillar disappear behind her.
I don't know quite what's happening, I feel near half-afraid
But dreams have spun reality, and all my dreams have made me into something new.
/Tessira grins at a passing butterfly.
Butterfly beginnings, butterfly recall your past.
Butterfly beginnings, do you think a dream can last?

/Tessira whispers softly, “I do.... I do”
Little fluttering butterfly, what songs will new days sing?
Little fluttering butterfly, what will tomorrow bring?
/Tessira stares thoughtfully after the butterfly.
What will tomorrow bring?
