Knight Errant by Kath McGill

Her cry joins the winds,
her tears fell like rains.
Her heart beats to thunder,
when she hears his name.

He swore unfailing love to her,
he wore her silkens near.
He left to slay her Dragons,
proving love for his dear.

His Horse returned alone,
her silkens torn and stained.
A memory and his name,
were all that remained.

High in the castle,
she waits for her dear.
Clutching stained silkens,
hoping for years.

Many think this is a sad story,
for one, it is true -
For our Knight in Armor,
held the hearts of two.
