Chapter 1: Morning. Knock, Knock, Knock! “Wake Up, Zin!” My Sister, Cara, Screamed. “Your gonna be late! You DO want to be on time for once, right?” “Yeah, Yeah, Shut up, ho,” I said. “What was that!?” “Nothing, Nothing.” I proceeded to get dressed and eat before going out the door to my bus stop. I got to the stop, at the peak of the hill I lived on. It was desolate. Crevices in the road, and even the occasional magma seeping out of them. The bus finally hovered over. I got in and was driven to school. Not much happened and it isn’t very much worth describing. Stating that, let’s just move to when I get home.

“Cara, I’m home!”

“Whatever!” She yelled from her room. I did my homework, blah. Than, I went to go walk to my friend’s house. The area was as desolate as it usually was. The ground, Cracked. The sky, a dark crimson with yellow highlighting t he horizon. Trees were scarcely alive, let alone not burnt. I never thought I would live in a place like this. The only thing I remember from my child hood is that it wasn’t. I don’t remember what it was, but it was not this hell that I’m living in now. I have asked my brother, Tatzuko, once. He always says, “It used to be a paradise. Trees would radiate emerald from their leaves. The ground was a lush, green color. Even grass existed here. Large palm trees would jet from the black soil; rich with minerals and the fruits they bore were unimaginable to someone new to this age. But, as world powers grew, certain actions were took that plunged this planet into a chaotic war. As for this place……… Well, while you were still young, the entire town of Garuga became a battleground between two small factions of two groups. Our alliance, The Sentinel and the enemy alliance called The Blasters. Blaster Thirteen, the leader, was actually the small faction. He himself could actually be considered as an entire elite army… Multiplied by quintillion. As him and The Sentinel group met up, there was immediately a brawl. Of coarse, our little group was no match for Thirteen and they knew that. Now Blaster Thirteen isn’t a very…noticeable opponent at first. He appears as a thirteen-year-old boy, very similar in looks to you. However, when he needs to, he can immediately transform into a gargantuan Dragon. His wings produce wind with the power of one million freight trains in a single gust. His legs, towering over at least half a mile. A tail that could shatter an asteroid in one swooshes. And his head, shrouded by a menacing mask, said to have been formed by the shadows themselves. The group decided to fight anyways hoping to show him that no matter what The Sentinel is no pushover. It was in vein. Before they even reached the boy, his palm was pointed at them and the words, “Runic Beam”, were uttered in a deep, crackly voice. The Area, from his hand to at least fifty miles was leveled in a radius of thirty miles wide. Added to that, the surrounding area, even here, in the town of Rathalos, was infected with the evil that had been unleashed in the blast. That is why we live in the state we do.”

“But why?” I spoke under my breath, walking to my friend’s house. “Why must we live here if it’s that horrible? Can’t we move? I mean this place is absolutely horrid.” I arrived at my friend’s house. I knocked twice. My friend answered.

“Who’s there?” “Interrupting Cow” “Interrupting Cow wh---“ “MOOOO!” “Heh heh, funny” “Yes, Yes I’m a master of comedy” “Are you coming inside or not?” “Sure why not, Isis” I went inside Isis’ house and we laid down on the couch and talked. She looked at my face for a second and frowned. “What’s the matter, Zin?” “What? Nothing!” “Oh come on, its written all over your face!” “Who wrote on my face?” “Your emotions, that’s who!” “Am I really that miserable looking?” “Yes, You’ve that depressed look on your face again. It really breaks my heart to see that.” “I’m sorry, just a lot on my mind lately.” “What?” “Well, I was thinking about what Tatzuko said to me.” “About what?” “About why we live in this… Hell.” “……………You were thinking about his… story, weren’t you?” “Yeah. It’s cool and all but, if it did happen than, why are we still in this town?” “So he didn’t tell you…” “What? Didn’t tell me what?” “About the radius outskirts” “WHA?” “In the outskirts of the runic outskirts, there lies a desert. And on the edge of that, lies a big gap between there, and where that area used to lead to. Almost like an ocean without any real decent or water and stuff. But, in one area, there are mirrors in the way of the road leading out. It’s the only place where the crevice isn’t. However, it is worse than it sounds. I know you. You were gonna ask about aircrafts, right?” “Yeah…” “This place is surrounded by an anti-matter dome. And the reasons for the crevices are to keep the antimatter from the dome and the matter in the other places from touching. If that happens, a large chunk of earth will be blown to nothing. Than the planet would be of no use to The Blasters. That’s why their beams do that to the areas they infect.” “And the mirrors?” “No clue.” “Oh…” "Well its getting dark, so I should go." "Oh alright." "Umm and Isis," "Hmm?" "I-I- nevermind. See you tomorrow in school." "Oh....... Okay. Goodnight, Zin." "Night, Isis." Before I slept, while lying in bed, I asked myself, Why didn't you tell her? "I... Don't know"
